Stained Concrete
Stained Concrete
There are different types of “concrete finishes” that can provide any surface with an original look that in turn can be tailored to match everything else around it. Stained concrete is a very popular finish for indoor concrete surfaces. Of course, it can also be used outdoors. Large boardwalk areas for example, and even outdoor shopping malls will sometimes feature a large concrete surface with a stained concrete finish. There are a variety of benefits that you can obtain if you pick stained concrete as your concrete finish of choice. At the same time you can get even more benefits when you book the service with us!
Tangible Benefits of Stained Concrete Surfaces
The unique look that you can get from a stained concrete surface is certainly one of the benefits that are worth mentioning. It is also a great way to compact the surface and use the stain as an extra layer of protection for the base of the concrete surface. This usually leads to extending the overall lifespan of the surface while preventing cracks. You are killing two birds with one stone with this type of finish.
Stained Concrete vs Stamped Concrete
We could argue that stamped concrete doesn’t necessarily protect the concrete surface. When it’s all set and done though we feel that each finish can be better suited for different types of surfaces. For the most part stained concrete is used in indoor surfaces. The idea is to also smoothen out the surface. You wouldn’t want a rough driveway-like surface indoors. It all comes down to the look that you are going for with the specific area that you happen to be working on at the time. That’s why we offer the possibility of applying both types of finishes.
How Long Is The Process Going To Take?
More often than not we are going to be taking a couple of days with this type of process. Not because we’re necessarily going to be working all day. It’s just that we want to make sure that the stained concrete can curate accordingly. That way you’ll have better long term results. Even though the seal may seem dry maybe a couple of hours after we apply it, it’s still a good idea to give it around 24 hours to fully settle in right. We’ll let you know though how long we require that the area remain vacant.
Can I Restain My Existing Concrete?
The short answer is yes. The results that you can expect to get can vary depending on what the current state of the concrete surface is. For example, if you have an existing concrete surface that has never been stained we can come in, make some light repairs and stain the surface. You can bet that we’ll be able to provide top results. Now, if you wanted to restain concrete that already had a design we can do that. The thing is, the color schemes and design that you currently have will most likely be lost forever.
